Dwight D. Eisenhower Professional Development Program
The Eisenhower Grant provides major funding for Wisconsin Watershed
Connection projects. This program is a grant competition for Institutions of
Higher Education and Non-Profit Organizations in Wisconsin.
Wisconsin Advanced Telecommunications Fund (WATF) and The Educational
Technology Board
WATF and ETB funded the first year of our project. They provide grants for
technology purchases in schools in Wisconsin.
Edgewood College
The Wisconsin Watershed Connection project is spearheaded from Edgewood
College in Madison, Wisconsin.
ESRI Schools
and Libraries Program
Education Systems Research Institute, the makers of ArcView software,
provided low- cost materials for classrooms involved with the GIS in
Education project. This site is for learning and sharing information about
the use of geographic information systems (GIS) in K-12 schools, public or
college libraries, museums, nature centers, and other sites for educating
the public.
Nature Net
Nature Net is a consortium of Dane County, Wisconsin area outdoor
environmental education sites. Each site provides special nature programming
for schoolchildren, teachers, and the general public. Nature Net and the WWC
are collaborating to create a regionally-based phenology web site. Look for
it soon!
DaneNet
DaneNet is the community server from which the WWC operates. This site
provides links to government, educational, recreational and other useful
websites in Dane County, Wisconsin.
The Heron Network
The Heron Network is a group of teachers working together on developing
teaching strategies that incorporate student inquiry. These teachers are
consistently involved in WWC activities and projects. The Network strives to
include a wide range of scientific and mathematical directions of study,
including watershed studies, exploring cultures and imaginative writing.
