On the 20th day of the experiment, the final average number of fronds for each environment was as follows: the control group had 6; the low phosphorus group had 7.6; the high phosphorus group had 136.3; the enclosure group had 9.6; and the Lake Wingra group had 8.3. As can be seen in Figure 2, the high phosphorus group showed the most significant growth, by increasing approximately 27 times over the starting number of fronds. Figure 3 shows that the difference between the enclosure group and the Lake Wingra group was 1.3 fronds. Figure 1 shows that the high phosphorus group grew at the most rapid rate, followed by carp-infested water, which had 12 days of rapid growth followed by a die-off. The low phosphorus, no phosphorus and enclosure water all grew at a slower, though steady, rate.
