Background

At beginning of the year, the building of a residence hall near Regina was proposed. While the majority of the Edgewood community felt the need for more on campus housing, many students, faculty and staff opposed the destruction of 10 trees with ages totaling 1407 years. Edgewood campus, while being located only a few short miles from a busy downtown environment, prides itself on its unique location that provides a secluded area where nature is preserved.

Purpose of Study

Our goal in completing this project was to gather data, such as size and location of oak trees on our campus. This information is to be shared with the campus to assist in finding appropriate places for future building projects.
