Teaching Interests/Philosophy: Earth Science (including both geology and oceanography) I am committed to an inquiry based approach to my teaching. Students need to not only know the nature of science, but how we know what we know. I also try and relate topic materials in my course to practical applications in society or to current events ((e.g. using the current eruptions of Mt. St. Helen’s to illustrate geologic concepts).
